All products are designed for regular use as well as to foster an appreciation for attractive wood. The raw wood is carved to create pieces that are durable, with the idea in mind that they should be used, enjoyed and someday, perhaps, passed down to the next generation. In this way, the stories in the wood become complemented with the accruing stories of the families using them.
All pieces are made using durable hardwood, most frequently walnut, black acacia. maple or locally grown oriental acacia. All the wood we use is reclaimed. It is acquired from trees that may be lost during storms or are removed as part of local land management, landscape upgrades or orchard recycling.

Our focus on visually unique wood has led us to the dramatic and compelling features found in grafted walnut wood. By creating bowls, boards and vases from the section of a grafted walnut tree where the two varieties are connected, extraordinary features and patterns can be highlighted. We have created a unique product line, only available from Nicasio Woodworks, called Wedded Wood™. They make ideal wedding or anniversary gifts as the Wedded Wood™ reflects the traits of a good union: expanded purpose that only comes from being together, the ability of each individual to grow in a manner consistent with their heritage, and the beautiful display of the complexity of that union through the rich patterns, unique to each tree.
